The ball-and-socket design offers greater positioning flexibility and ease of use than any competitive marine-grade camera mount, tripod or monopod.
No suction cups or major alterations to your watercraft are required for installation. The Kayacam is completely portable, detaching and re-attaching to any existing eyelet or pad eye on your deck (or any other flat surface). You simply pull the tension cord taut with a single hand and cinch it on the Kayalites built-in jam cleat.

Recommended Payload Weights
Mounted on boats under power or sail, canoes, sculls and dinghies, the Kayacam is recommended for use with cameras of up to 9 ounces (257 g). On kayaks or surfaces routinely subject to rocking, jarring impact or sudden pitching, the Kayacam is recommended for installation on a flat deck area with compact digital cameras of up to 7 ounces (199 g).
The Kayacam requires installation on a flat surface and is not designed for curved or peaked surfaces.
